Toshinobu-dono's
Hon Kozane Kebiki Odoshi Do Maru
These are pictures sent in by Toshinobu-dono showing the armor he is currently working on. It is made from hand cut and lacquered leather, which he punched and laced together in proper kebiki odoshi.

A tremendous undertaking that really looks outstanding!

The hon kozane (scales) are cut from the leather, then marked and punched. Once lacquered, they are placed together, overlapping the scale beside it by half and laced with a leather thong called kawa shiki.

The boards formed are then laced together using flat braid called odoshi.

These pictures depict the egawa (printed leather) added to the mune ita (front top plate), the oshitsuke no ita (top back plate) and the kanmura ita (top sode plates), as well as some of the brass kanemono and hasso byo (decorative plates and rivits)
