Ceinwen ferch Llewelyn ab Owain's 15th C. Italian gamurra

Back to the Projects Page

This is a 15th C. Italian outfit constructed by a team of 6 seamstresses, including Lady Ceinwen, during the Challenge of the Golden Needle, an 18-hour sewing contest in the East Kingdom. It is said that these fine Ladies were so deft in their completion of this exquisite ensemble that they even had time to take a nap.

While the full documentation fills a binder, Mistress Kamilla models the gamurra, a camicia, the embellished sleeves, the necklace, a cap, the coverciere and hose. The lacings and garters were made on site as well.
